  • Firm tofu: 100 g / 3.5 oz

  • Maple syrup: 6 tablespoons (90 ml)

  • Soy sauce: 10 tablespoons (150 ml)

  • Sriracha: 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)

  • Vegetable oil: for frying

  1. Make the marinadeIn a container or shallow dish, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, and sriracha. Mix well until fully blended.

  2. Slice the tofuPat the tofu dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Slice it into very thin strips — the thinner, the crispier!

  3. Marinate the tofuPlace the tofu strips in the marinade, making sure they’re fully coated. Let them sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

  4. Fry to perfectionHeat a drizzle of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the marinated tofu slices. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, or until crispy and browned.

  5. Drain and serveTransfer the vegan bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
