Saucepan
Bowl
Air fryer
Skewers (wooden or metal)
📝 Ingredients
Serves 2
Textured soy steaks: 50 g / 2 oz
Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
BBQ seasoning: 2 tablespoons
Paprika: 1 tablespoon
Cornstarch: 1 teaspoon
👨🍳 Instructions
Rehydrate the soyIn a saucepan, boil the textured soy steaks in plenty of water for 4 minutes. Drain and let them cool slightly.
Drain thoroughlyOnce cooled, press each fillet firmly with your hands to remove as much liquid as possible. The drier, the better for crispness.
Prepare the marinadeIn a bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, BBQ seasoning, paprika, and cornstarch. Stir until smooth.
Marinate the filletsAdd the drained soy fillets to the bowl and mix well. Let them marinate for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Assemble the skewersThread the marinated fillets onto skewers, folding them accordion-style if they’re large.
Cook in the air fryerPlace the skewers in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes at 205°C / 400°F, or until golden and slightly crispy.
