📝 Ingredients
(Serves 2)
Seitan: 2 portions (about 6–7 oz / 180–200 g total)
Tamari or soy sauce: 1 teaspoon
Paprika: 1 teaspoon
Smoke powder (or smoked paprika): 1 teaspoon
Cornstarch: 1 teaspoon
Olive oil: As needed
Cold water: For dissolving cornstarch
👨🍳 Instructions
Boil the seitan
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add the seitan along with a splash of tamari.
Cook for 10 minutes or until tender.
Drain and shred
Strain and let the seitan cool slightly.
Squeeze out excess water with your hands.
Shred the seitan into strips or small pieces.
Season
In a bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, and smoke powder.
Coat the shredded seitan in the mixture.
Sauté
Heat a frying pan with a little olive oil.
Sauté the seasoned seitan until golden brown.
Add the sauce
Dissolve cornstarch in a small amount of cold water.
Pour it into the pan and stir well.
Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
🍽️ Serving Ideas
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or in a sandwich.
Pairs well with roasted vegetables or a crisp salad.
