📝 Ingredients
Tofu: 14 oz / 400 g (firm or extra firm)
Garlic powder: 1 tablespoon
Onion powder: 1 tablespoon
Paprika: 1 tablespoon
Thyme: 1 teaspoon
Bacon-flavored seasoning (or smoked flavoring): 3 teaspoons
Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
👨🍳 Instructions
Freeze and thaw tofu
Freeze the tofu block for 24 hours, then thaw completely.
This improves texture and absorbency.
Drain and break
Squeeze out as much water as possible by hand.
Tear tofu into thick rustic chunks.
Prepare marinade
In a bowl, combine all spices, soy sauce, and flavorings to make a marinade.
Marinate
Place tofu chunks in a glass container with a lid.
Pour the marinade over the tofu.
Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for 24 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure even flavoring.
Air fry
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C / 390°F.
Add tofu pieces and air fry for 10–12 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
🍽️ Serving Tips
Serve with mashed potatoes, grains, or in wraps.
Great with BBQ sauce, mustard, or in sandwiches.
