Lentil empanadas

Wheat flour:
Sunflower oil:
Lentils:
Garlic:
Onion:
Carrot:

1 cup
1/4 cup
1 cup
1 clove
1/2 unit
1 unit

Instructions

1. Let the lentils soak for a couple of hours.
2. Cook them until soft.
3. Cut the vegetables into small pieces and put them in a pan with the lentils. Add spices to your liking.
4. Reserve the filling.
5. In a bowl, mix the flours, oil, a little salt and 3/4 cup of water.
6. Form the dough into a cylinder and divide it into 12 pieces.
7. Make small balls with each piece and then flatten them with a rolling pin.
8. Add the fill in the center of each of the dough disks.
9. Close the discs, try to shape them into an empanada.
10. Place all the dumplings on a greased baking sheet.
11. Bake for 25 minutes at 180ºC/350ºF.
12. Check doneness by making sure they are golden brown.
